IMCO Training Centre inaugurated in Suhar
SUHAR: Coinciding with the International Day of Civil Defence celebration by the Public Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulance, which was held at the International Maritime College Oman (IMCO) in Suhar, the IMCO Training Centre was inaugurated under the patronage of Major General Ahmed bin Ali bin Salman Kashoob, Secretary General of the National Security Council.
The inauguration of this Training Unit comes within the International Maritime College Oman’s plan to expand its facilities to meet the local and international quality standards, in addition to contributing to the development of the national human capital at various related fields in accordance with the national strategic plans such as the National Logistics Strategy (2040).
This centre is designed to enhance the college’s training capabilities to meet the educational and training requirements of IMCO students and trainees from other sectors.
The centre includes training halls and training simulators for rescue and firefighting, either on ships or in other industrial facilities, according to applicable international standards in this field such as the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, by the International Maritime Organisation (IMOSTCW).
