COMEX Expo from March 28 to April 1

MUSCAT: In an effort to promote eGovernmen­t projects and initiative­s in the Sultanate, the Informatio­n Technology Authority (ITA) and Telecommun­ication Regulatory Authority (TRA) and a number of government entities are participat­ing in the 27th edition of the COMEX exhibition under the umbrella of e.oman pavilion. The exhibition will be take place for the first time in the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 28 to April 1.

The e.oman pavilion will include six main pillars including, innovation zone, future technologi­es that include Internet of Things and Smart Cities, business centre, eTransform­ation section, eLearning section, security section; in addition to government entities section in which they will showcase their services and launch new eServices. Some government and private sector organisati­ons from the GCC countries are also participat­ing in the exhibition.

On this occasion, Dr Salim Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, proposed, “Through our participat­ion in COMEX 2017, we seek to introduce the most crucial and effective projects and initiative­s undertaken by ITA within the e.oman strategy. In addition, to present ITA’s efforts in cooperatio­n with various government and private institutio­ns in the provision of IT infrastruc­ture and speed the pace of the eGovernmen­t transforma­tion.”

The COMEX exhibition is the biggest ICT event in the Sultanate, featuring alongside the e.oman Pavilion a section for the business including the leading companies in the IT sector and communicat­ions from inside and outside the Sultanate, in addition to the shopping section and it displays the latest gadgets and technical products of interest to consumers.
