Defence relations between India, Oman to get boost

MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsibl­e for Defence Affairs, received in his office at Muaskar Bait Al Falaj on Wednesday Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of the Naval Staff in India, currently visiting the Sultanate.

The meeting exchanged cordial conversati­ons and reviewed fields of the existing cooperatio­n between two friendly countries, as well as discussing matters of common concern.

The meeting was attended by Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), Indramani Pandey, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate and the delegation accompanyi­ng the guest.

Meanwhile, Admiral Sunil Lanba, and his accompanyi­ng delegation, currently visiting the Sultanate, also visited the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) Museum on Wednesday.

Brig Saud bin Khalifa al Hatmi, Head of the SAF Military Protocols and Public Relations received the guest and his accompanyi­ng delegation and escorted them in a tour to various sections of the museum. The guest and his accompanyi­ng delegation viewed the historic manuscript­s and models, as well as the Omani architectu­re in Bait Al Falaj Castle.

They were also briefed on the progress enjoyed by SAF during the prosperous reign of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

At the end of the visit, the guest signed the visitor’s book, expressing his delight to visit the SAF Museum and view the beauty of the historic architectu­re, rich civilisati­onal heritage in the Sultanate and aspects of progress and prosperity it enjoys today.
