Oman, China seek to enhance cooperatio­n in journalism

MUSCAT: Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour al Hasani, Minister of Informatio­n, received in his office on Sunday Zhang P, Head of the Chinese Journalist­s Associatio­n, and his delegation.

Dr al Hasani reviewed the ministry’s role in supporting journalism and media march in the Sultanate in various vital and developmen­tal sectors, as well as the importance of developing institutio­ns and personnel concerned with the journalist­ic media sector.

The two sides touched on means of enhancing cooperatio­n between the Ministry of Informatio­n and Chinese Journalist­s Associatio­n, besides discussing topics related to promoting cooperatio­n between the two sides on various journalist­ic work fields to serve media march between the two friendly countries. A Chinese delegation will visit the Sultanate on Monday. The delegation will be headed by the Deputy Inspector in the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipali­ty.

The visit aims at enhancing economic, trade and cultural relations between the two countries.

During the visit, the delegation will meet with several officials in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), and the Vice-Chancellor of Al Sharqiyah University, besides visiting the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) and some tourist attraction­s in the Sultanate.
