Sultanate to attend Arab financial institutio­ns’ meetings in Rabat

MUSCAT: The Sultanate will take part in the joint annual meetings of the Arab financial institutio­ns and meetings of the 8th session of the Arab Finance Ministers Council, scheduled to be held in Rabat on Tuesday.

The Sultanate’s delegation to the two-day meetings will be led by Darwish bin Ismaeel al Balushi, Minister Responsibl­e for Financial Affairs, and membership of Hamoud bin Sangour al Zedjali, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), and officials at the Ministry of Finance.

The meetings will discuss the financial position of these institutio­ns and the evaluation of the results of their work for 2016, as well as the study and approval of the programmes of financing and investment operations for 2017. They will also discuss the internatio­nal economic developmen­ts and regional challenges facing the economies of Arab countries.

Bilateral meetings of Arab finance ministers will be held on the sidelines of annual meetings to discuss and exchange views on financial and economic issues of common concern.

The Arab Monetary Fund, Arab Fund for Economic and Social Developmen­t, Arab Bank for Economic Developmen­t in Africa, Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporatio­n, Arab Authority for Agricultur­al Investment and Developmen­t will take part in the meetings.
