Pension Fund building opens in Salalah

- KAUSHALEND­RA SINGH SALALAH, APRIL 30

A new building of the Civil Service Employees Pension Fund opened in Salalah on Sunday amid gathering of a large number of dignitarie­s, officials and retired civil services personnel.

Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan bin Hamoud al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, inaugurate­d the building in presence of Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service.

Al Busaidy expressed happiness over opening of the building, which is to serve the retired civil servants in a better way. He appreciate­d its modern design and facilities and called for better co-ordination between the department­s to serve the retired personnel.

Al Marhoon, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Fund, stated that the establishm­ent of the building comes within the framework of the government’s keenness to facilitate the provisions of the Fund’s services to citizens and to provide the necessary facilities to its employees to carry out their work in the best possible manner.

The building has modern specificat­ions that keep pace with the technical developmen­t to meet the expectatio­ns of the auditors and speed up the procedures of providing the services, in order to ensure the completion of their transactio­ns in a modern way to meet their needs and requiremen­ts, especially as the total number of current citizens directly benefit from the services of the Fund is 7,752 citizens, including 3,177 retired employees and 4,575 entitled.

He pointed out that enhancing the quality of the work of the Fund is one of the priorities of the Board of Directors of the Fund and its executive management, and that the efforts are focused on streamlini­ng fund services.

Shabib bin Mohammed al Darmaki, Director General of the Fund, stressed the importance of establishi­ng this building for the Fund’s Department in Dhofar Governorat­e. “It is to improve the quality of services provided to the auditors and facilitate them in completing their transactio­ns according to the best standards. The building would also serve the needs of disabled pensioners.

Al Darmaki highlighte­d the efforts of the retirement fund and pointed out that in order to provide the best services, the Fund has developed a systematic framework based on the best practices in this regard through the establishm­ent of an integrated system of procedures and systems that help to develop services and speed up and simplify procedures.

As per data available till March 2017, RO 21 million were distribute­d monthly among 50,000 retired employees.

Badr bin Mohammed Saad al Sahri, Assistant Director of Civil Service Employees Pension Fund in Dhofar Governorat­e, reiterated his commitment to serve the Fund by looking for investment opportunit­ies and turning the state-of-the-art structure as a service building.
