Oman Oil, Oman LNG Devt Foundation, sign cooperation agreement

Oman Oil Company (OOC), the Sultanate’s investment arm in the energy and energy related sectors, and Oman LNG Development Foundation, have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to discuss and enhance cooperation in areas related to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability.

This cooperation streamlines the commitment and efforts placed by the two parties and their unremitting support to social responsibility in the Sultanate. The agreement further enhances promotes working together to establish sustainable CSR projects to reach a wider segment of the beneficiaries.

Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Eng Isam bin Saud al Zadjali, CEO of OOC said, “The signing of the MoU with Oman LNG Development Foundation comes in line with our interest in adopting best practices to implement sustainable programmes to serve the community. In addition, we intend to train and develop our employees through adopting necessary skills and best practices. Our vision is to integrate social responsibility for the benefit of the society as well as to participate effectively in the economic and social development of the communities we are working in.

The MoU entails that both parties will discuss future joint plans for social responsibility projects. It also provides opportunities to develop professional skills and boost expertise by providing opportunities for assignments and job training for both sides, which will contribute to the advancement of professional staff working areas related to CSR. In addition, the agreement provides an adequate venues for sharing best practices and experiences in the fields of sustainability and social investment.
