2 dead in accident, 10 people injured

MUSCAT: Two people died and 10 others were injured in a major traffic accident on the main road linking Rustaq and Ibri, said the Royal Oman Police without divulging the details.

The investigation in South Al Batinah has arrested four citizens for intentionally burning a vehicle in Rustaq.

Meanwhile, the police in Sur arrested two citizens for stealing from shops.

As per reports, the police were informed of robbery by unidentified men in Sur, following which a team was formed for investigation. The accused were caught red-handed.

The Adam police station has arrested two Asian nationals on charges of possession of alcohol and alcohol trafficking.

It seized over 100 bottles of alcoholic beverages and 30 boxes of counterfeit cigarettes in their home. In MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police’s department of crime investigation team seized a truck containing large quantities of banned cigarettes to be imported into the Sultanate.

Seizure and legal proceedings have been carried out in both cases.
