National Gas win FRiENDi Mobile Summer Cricket Cup

MUSCAT: The final day of the FRiENDi Mobile Summer Cup, organised by Jazz Boys Cricket Club, saw a large turn up at the Ghubrah Power Plant ground to witness the days proceeding. The day began with very hot weather and by afternoon turned in to a mini storm and the matches that played out too didn’t disappoint the crowd. All the quarterfinal matches to the finals were played intensely and fought out till the last ball. The highly popular tournament is mainly sponsored by FRiENDi mobile and co-sponsored by Al Hajiry Group, Strabag Oman, Khurshid Trading, Greenfield logistics and The Body Shop. The final was a rain/mini-storm hit match therefore the game was reduced to six overs a side. Cheers batted first scored 39 for 4 in 6 overs, national gas chased it down easily in 5 overs losing three wickets for 40 runs.

The guests of honour for the gala prize distribution ceremony were Eugen Commendant, Marketing and Sales Director of FRiENDi mobile, Joseph Rajan, Marketing Operations Manager of FRiENDi mobile, Vaishali Jesrani, women’s coordinator of Oman Cricket and Gayatri Suri of JBC. Vinu Mathew, Jazz Boys Club organiser, congratulated the winners and thanked all the sponsors for their continued support. He also thanked the scorers, the umpires, the commentators and helpers for a wonderful job done and a tournament organised really well.
