ISAS wonder girl presents new application-oriented formulas
MUSCAT: An international mathematics conference was held on “Geometric and Combinatorial Methods in Group Theory” at the University of Illinois, UrbanaChampaign, USA from May 16 to 18.
Many mathematicians and research scholars participated to discuss and present the new developments in this conference held at this 150-year-old, historical University.
Pooja Dharmasa, ( pictured) currently studying in Class X at Indian School Al Seeb, Oman, under CBSE curriculum, was invited by the University of Illinois to present her 2 years’ research work. This wonderful achiever’s work contains 8 new formulas in Maths and their applications.
Pooja’s research work is entitled as “Involvement of group of cubelets based on combinatorial paint surface of nxnxn cube and its applications”. The various applications of the proposed formulae are: i) Estimation of cost required to paint a multistoried or high-rised buildings with different colours. ii) Heat transfer analysis in any micro/mega sized cubelets of cube shaped objects. iii) Dipping and washing of cloths cleaning analysis in the washing machine design, based on rotation and shuffle of cubelets of a cube. The research was supported and partially sponsored by New Island Special, Smart Engineering, Oman Greenway Integrated Projects, Oman, Heera Electronics, Karnataka, south India.
The registration to the conference was made free by National Science Foundation grants DMS, USA.
Her research work is certified by the team of Mathematicians from various reputed International Universities such as Gili Golan, Kate Juschenko, Curtis Kent, Alexander Olshanskii Denis Osin, Jenya Sapir.
In a highly elated and satisfied mood after retuning, Pooja reported that the discussion with team of experts was highly interactive and beneficial.
Pooja Dharmasa expressed her heart-felt gratitude to the President of SMC, Ravi Jayanthy and other members of the School Management Committee for their belief in her work and their constant encouragement.
She thanked the school’s Principal Nagesh Kelkar, Vice-Principals Shiney Roy and Chandravati Vishnu and the teachers of Indian School Al Seeb for their continuous support and reinforcement to participate in the research presentation. She also expressed, her sincere gratitude to the co-supporters and official from India,Oman and USA.
