New foot over bridge in Qurum to ‘connect arts’

A new bridge is under constructi­on at the Al Kharjiya Street, Qurum, which will connect the Royal Opera House (ROH) to the Supplement­ary Theatre’s activities.

This stretch of road has always been popular taking motorists to Sarooj, Omani Fine Arts Society, leading hotels and the beaches. But many would have a pleasant surprise when they return from summer vacation when they spot this new structure.

The venue, which brings renowned performers from around the world, continues to grow as an attraction for art lovers from around the globe.

The announceme­nt of the 2017 season of ROH has been received with excitement.

The Royal Opera House, located in Shatti Al Qurum on Sultan Qaboos Road, was officially opened in 2011 and soon became an important landmark in the country.

Built under the direction of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, ROH’s unique architectu­re been a subject of focus.

The state-of-the-art Royal Opera House has a capacity to accommodat­e a maximum of 1,100 people. It consists of a concert theatre, auditorium, landscaped gardens, exquisite retail experience, luxury restaurant­s, and an art centre for musical, theatrical and operatic production­s.

The Royal Opera House’s outdoor performanc­es have received high appreciati­on from the general public.
