New academy to boost Suhar as aviation hub

higher education programmes ranging from Bachelor to Master of Science, Aviation Advanced Master, Master of Business and Administra­tion as well as PhDs in the domains of aeronautic­s and aviation. ENAC alumni work in aeronautic­al and aviation companies, in fields such as manufactur­ing (Airbus, ATR, Embraer, Safran, P&W, GE, Rockwell Collins, Thales, Indra),

and airports, airlines, civil aviation authoritie­s as well as air navigation providers across the globe. As many as 2,500 students are registered at any given time at the university, in addition to 7,500 trainees enrolled in some of the 400 continuing education programmes or advances training courses offered at the facility.

Chosen as the technical operator of the Oman Aviation Academy is CAE Oxford Aviation Academy, reputed as the largest ab initio flight training network in the world with world-class flight schools in the US, Netherland­s, Belgium, UK, Australia and India. Operating a fleet over 165 aircraft, the Academy supports the training of around 2,000 cadet pilots annually.

According to OAPFD, the Oman Aviation Academy will support the training of national and regional cadets to receive the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). This qualificat­ion will enable graduates to work in any local and internatio­nal airline. Besides, the facility will provide special training programmes for military pilot training.
