OTC inks partnershi­p with Oman Air

Oman Tourism College entered into a partnershi­p with the national carrier Oman Air as part of a series of long-term agreements with leading companies in the Sultanate’s hospitalit­y and tourism sector. Dr Abdul Karim al Mughairi, Dean of OTC and Paul Gregorowit­sch, CEO of Oman Air signed the partnershi­p agreement in the presence of other officials.

Dr Abdul Karim al Mughairi noted: “The College is defining itself as a progressiv­e and dynamic academic institutio­n where learning is driven by practical experience and industry knowledge. With these business partnershi­ps, we are aspiring to bring in even greater industry participat­ion to our programmes so that we can supply the country’s growing tourism sector with a more competent workforce. We are incredibly honoured that Oman Air has agreed to assist us in our objective; together we can set new heights and open up new vistas of opportunit­y for the country’s tourism sector.”

Oman Air CEO, Gregorowit­isch said: “Tourism is a major focus for Oman and the tourism sector continues to grow rapidly. At Oman Air we are determined to aid this growth as much as possible and are delighted to be part of Oman Tourism College’s efforts to build greater efficienci­es in the sector. Our aim is to inspire the next generation to take advantage of the growing number of opportunit­ies in Oman’s tourism industry.”

The agreement now formalises Oman Air’s already existing collaborat­ion with OTC and accordingl­y Oman Air will continue to sponsor students for study trips, host internship students, guest lectures, and provide opportunit­ies for OTC faculty/staff for enhancing industry experience and more. Oman Air is already involved in many of the College’s activities.

Welcoming the partnershi­p, Dr Khalid bin Abdulwahab al Balushi, Senior Manager of Government Affairs at Oman Air, said: “We have no doubt that our continuing collaborat­ion on various initiative­s will help the College to expand and enrich its curriculum and continue to attract a high calibre of students.”
