HCC emerge Metro Cup champions

MUSCAT: HCC thrashed Udupi Bulls CC by 9 wickets to clinch the Metro Shopping Centre Cricket Cup at Al Amerat Ground.

Nineteen teams took part in the knock out tournament organised by Rising Kokan Team on July 28 and August 4.

In the final, after winning the toss, Udupi Bulls posted 43-4 in 7 overs. In reply, HCC scored 47-1 in 3 overs.

In the first semi final, Udupi Bulls beat Pokri Royals by 17 Runs. The second semifinal was won by HCC, who beat Michael XI by 56 runs.

Rakesh of HCC was elected man of the tournament, man of the final, best batsman and maximum sixes awards. Pradeep, also of HCC claimed the best bowler award.

Chief guest Dad al Balushi, Oman Cricket board member, presented the winner’s trophy to HCC team. Gyasuddin Chougle, Capital Insurance Co., Mushtaq Tambe, General Manager, Al Bahri Engineering Consultancy, and Jameel Zaidi presented runnersup trophy, individual awards, mementos and lucky draw gifts to the winners.

Chief organiser Mujahid Surve thanked all the supporting members, participants, umpires and the sponsors for making this event a grand success.
