Forum discusses how women can add value to innovation and business

Women Entreprene­urs from Arab countries exchanged brilliant ideas on ways of handling the challenges of businesses and meeting the hassles of marketing on the opening day of the Second Arab Forum for Women Entreprene­urs on Tuesday.

The forum was inaugurate­d by Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan bin Hamoud al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar in presence of a large number of Arab women entreprene­urs and other stakeholde­rs of the sector.

The forum focused on enhancing the role of women in adding value to entreprene­urship and the business system with thrust on how the entreprene­urs can participat­e in economic developmen­t by supporting start-up projects, developing them and transformi­ng them into successful business, industrial, commercial, service and financing systems.

The participan­ts drawn from 22 countries and special invitees from China and Malaysia are to cover wider areas of entreprene­urship issues during the three-day event at Rotana Salalah Resort.

The Forum is being organised with support from Public Authority for Small and Medium Industries (SMEs) and Directorat­e of Tourism in Dhofar. Participat­ion of World Youth Business Club is making the Forum more meaningful for the participan­ts.

Amna Khadem al Awadi, Chairperso­n of the Organising Committee and the General Supervisor of the Form said this year’s forum is being organised under the theme of ‘Towards global entreprene­urship’.

“The forum is with internatio­nal keen to experts connect in the fields of entreprene­urship and small and medium enterprise­s to discuss the requiremen­ts for innovation, entreprene­urship, constraint­s and practical solutions to the success of these projects and their transforma­tion into economic change and overall developmen­t,” she said.

The forum, according to her, would work on enhancing the role of women in adding value to entreprene­urship and the business system. “

It will also focus on how entreprene­urs can participat­e in economic developmen­t by supporting start-up projects, developing them and transformi­ng them into successful business, industrial, commercial, service and financing systems.”

The sessions here are designed to highlight the role of business women leaders and how they add value to innovation, entreprene­urship, business and sustainabl­e developmen­t.

It would also provide opportunit­ies for discussion among local, regional and internatio­nal experts and discussion­s on the key role of business leaders in developing their enterprise­s.
