High Sierra supports chess talent in Barcelona
MUSCAT: As part of its ongoing initiatives to support budding talent, High Sierra by Samsonite recently sponsored Master Jijo Joy for a onemonth chess tournament held in Barcelona. A class seven student from the Indian School Wadi Kabir, Jijo is a talented chess player who has participated at both national and international levels. He had his sights set on higher international achievements when High Sierra recognised his remarkable potential and decided to sponsor the young player’s major championship tournament in Barcelona.

Jijo has a standard chess rating of 1647 and has played in a number of tournaments in India and the GCC. His ultimate goal is to become a Grand Master.
