Master plan for Musandam tourism
The Implementation and FollowUp Unit of Tanfeedh said a steering committee has continued to monitor progress of projects in tourism sector and help overcome obstacles in their progress.
It reviewed the initiative to develop comprehensive plans for a number of governorates and agreed with Asaas on developing a master plan for Musandam.
The Ministry of Tourism has received plans for the development of tourism sites in various governorates, including the first phase of Musandam project.
A team constituted to facilitate establishment of integrated tourism complexes and hotels has managed to solve 14 challenges faced by some projects implemented by the private sector.
The ministry said it plans to have an accredited list of engineering, architecture and design consultancy offices for preparing technical studies for tourism projects.
The aim is to help investors choose professional consultants for tourism projects and the accredited list will provide an opportunity for investors without incurring any liability on the Ministry of Tourism.
The inclusion of offices within approved list doesn’t mean the ministry’s direct approval of schemes, drawings and designs submitted by those offices to the ministry for any tourism project.
Applications are open for both international and local offices.
The application forms can be submitted to the DirectorateGeneral for Planning, Follow-up and Information at the Ministry of Tourism on Tuesdays by hand or by post (international consultants).
