Measles immunisati­on campaign continues

GOOD GOING: National drive witnessed a vast turnout from people in the Sultanate’s different governorat­es

MUSCAT: The second phase of the National Measles Immunisati­on Campaign (NMIC) that was officially launched on Sunday is continuing, covering people in the age group of (20-35) at all governorat­es excluding the governorat­es of Dhofar and Al Wusta.

Muscat 158,247 at 24.2 per cent, Al Dakhiliyah 53,566 at 35.4 per cent, North Batinah 142,012 at 46.5 per cent, South Batinah 53,710 at 34.6 per cent, North Al Sharqiyah 38,328 at 35.9 per cent, South Al Sharqiyah 42,641 at 36.8 per cent, Al Dhahirah 27,936 at 36.3 per cent, Al Buraimi 17,969 at 36.7 per cent, Musandam 8,504 at 47.9 per cen

The national drive witnessed a vast turnout from people in the Sultanate’s different governorat­es as the preliminar­y data of the first and second day indicated.

It is worth mentioning that the campaign mainly helps in mitigating and eliminatin­g the disease as well as promoting the immunity system thus maintainin­g a measles-free society.

Ensuring the safety and health of community individual­s, the ministry calls on all people in the Sultanate aged 20 to 35 years to visit the nearest vaccinatio­n site in order to get vaccinated, free of cost, as per scheduled dates.

The ministry further calls upon all to take the informatio­n from the MoH reliable sources or the MoH’s contact centre, paying no attention to rumours.
