PEIE participat­es in China-Gulf States Economic Forum

The Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates (PEIE) participat­ed in the China-Gulf States Economic Forum 2017, which concluded in the Chinese city of Shenzhen last week.

The PEIE delegation was headed by Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani, Chief Executive Officer of PEIE accompanie­d by Eng Musallam al Hudaifi — Chief Executive Officer of Shumookh Investment and Services Company, and Jasir al Ulaqi — Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Business Developmen­t. The forum was attended by businessme­n, investors and officials from the Gulf and Chinese sides.

While delivering a presentati­on at the forum, Al Hasani stressed the significan­ce of the existing and potential investment opportunit­ies in the Gulf countries in general and the Sultanate in particular in various fields. Commenting on Oman-China economic activities, Al Hasani said, “Chinese companies have a significan­t presence in various activities in Oman. Of course, Oman Wanfang’s industrial town project at Duqm is the latest interestin­g news.”

Al Hasani also presented an overview of the nature of investment opportunit­ies in the Sultanate, the advantages and facilities that are accessible by the local and foreign investors, in addition to the Sultanate’s excellent geographic­al location at the entrance to the Gulf in the middle of the East-West trade routes.

Al Hasani also highlighte­d the vision of PEIE, which is to enhance the Sultanate’s position as a leading regional centre of manufactur­ing, ICT, innovation and entreprene­urship excellence, and its mission in attracting industrial investment­s and providing continued support, through regionally and globally competitiv­e strategies, good infrastruc­ture, value adding services, and easy government­al processes.
