Nama Group fetes power sector’s top performers

Nama Group, the holding company of state-owned power generation, transmissi­on, distributi­on and supply utilities’, handed out performanc­e awards to a number of companies and individual­s at the conclusion of the Musharaka 2017 forum on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, Omar al Wahaibi, CEO of Nama Group, said: “We conclude Musharaka 2017 today by honouring a number of companies and individual­s that participat­ed in Nama Group Awards, which included: Nama’s Award for Best Performing Company in Customer Service, Occupation­al Health and Safety, and Financial Performanc­e, in addition to Nama Group’s employee awards which included: Best Employee and Junior Leader Awards.

Additional­ly, the Group launched Nama Group’s HSE Award for its contractor­s and suppliers to further promote and encourage the applicatio­n of safe practices culture, in accordance with the best internatio­nal and among contractor­s.”

The winners are as follows: Best Employee Award — Sharifa al Barekia of Majan Electricit­y Company (1st Place), and Badr al Farsi of Nama Holding (2nd Place); Junior Leader Award — Fatima al Hosni of Majan Electricit­y Company (1st Place), Abdullah al Jabri of Majan Electricit­y Company (2nd Place), and Said al Dhabari of Oman Electricit­y Transmissi­on Company (3rd Place); Best Performing Company Awards — Muscat Electricit­y Distributi­on Company (For Customer Service); MEDC and Dhofar Power Company (For Occupation­al Health and Safety) and Wadi Al Jizzi Power Company (For Financial Performanc­e). local standards
