Omani professionals recognised as emerging leaders

- BUSINESS REPORTER MUSCAT, SEPT 19

Takatuf, the Human Capital solutions provider, and HEC Paris, one of the world’s leading providers of Executive Education, have concluded the ‘Emerging Leaders Programme’, an Executive Education programme that takes into consideration Oman’s leadership context and leverages Takatuf ’s Human Capital expertise and HEC Paris’ internationally recognised reputation in management programmes to offer a powerful learning opportunity to emerging leaders from the Sultanate’s diverse sectors.

The 3-month programme engaged 20 of Oman’s business leaders in a hands-on approach to real-world experiential executive education. Through case studies, role play and a programme designed on collaboration and teamwork, Oman’s leaders experienced an innovative learning curriculum uniquely designed by Takatuf and HEC Paris to develop the leadership competencies most sought by Oman’s largest organisations.

“What we have learned in the “Emerging Leaders Programme” we can apply directly to work on day one. In particular, this programme’s emphasis on change management revealed to me the potential for innovation and how encouraging staff to brainstorm and share ideas can improve our ministry’s operations,” said Qasim Mohammed al Amri, an emerging leader from the Ministry of Oil and Gas.

The graduation ceremony was held at Hormuz Hotel in the presence of programme sponsors from the Ministry of Oil and Gas, State General Reserve Fund, Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production and ASAAS.

‘The “Emerging Leaders Programme’ comes at a time when more than ever do we recognise a need to provide high-quality educational and developmental opportunities to Oman’s professionals’, said Hilal Al Jadidi, Director of Consulting Services at Takatuf. ‘Future leaders in the public and private sectors need access to formative experiences to help them realise their full potential and to reach the management roles they aspire to. Takatuf is proud to once again partner with HEC Paris to offer this unique programme’.

Dr Nils Plambeck, Dean and CEO of HEC Paris in Qatar, and Academic Director of the Emerging Leaders programme, said: ‘I have been very happy to witness the engagement and learning of the participants in this programme. While we have a strong focus on leadership, participants also had the chance to strengthen and expand their skills in areas such as strategy, change management, and finance. I look forward to learning how the participants use the frameworks and skills and thereby have an impact at the individual, team, and organisational level.

I am confident that they will make important contributions.”
