NBC’s Reyooq initiative sheds light on energy sector investment

The National Business Centre (NBC), which is part of the Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates (PEIE), hosted on Tuesday an edition of its Reyooq initiative, highlighti­ng the significan­ce of investment in the energy sector in the Sultanate.

Discussion­s focused on the electricit­y distributi­on structure in Oman, renewable energy, issues related to efficiency of energy and its management in the Sultanate, in addition to the role played by entreprene­urs in exploring the opportunit­ies available in this sector. The event also underlined the challenges facing entreprene­urs in the energy sector.

Moderated by Mulkie al Hashmi, Director of Marketing at NBC, the forum featured experts in the field comprising, Dr Firas al Abduwani, CEO of Hussam Technology Company; Eng Abdullah al Badi, Executive Director of the National Electricit­y Centre; and Dr Saleh al Saadi, Assistant Professor at Civil and Architectu­ral Engineerin­g Department at Sultan Qaboos University.

Sponsored by Ooredoo, the Reyooq series aspire to present an ultimate platform for Omani entreprene­urs to network with experts, and learn about entreprene­urship to get innovative and creative ideas for their businesses.

Al Hashmi noted that the Reyooq initiative aims at developing the abilities and knowledge of entreprene­urs and underscori­ng their viewpoints with the experts in the field, besides enhancing communicat­ion channels.
