Training programme in robot designing, programmin­g conducted at Al Batinah

The Department of Human Resources Developmen­t in South Batinah Governorat­e, represente­d by the Applied Sciences Department in the Informatio­n Technology Unit, conducted a training programme in robotics design and programmin­g, implemente­d by specialist­s from the Engineerin­g Village Foundation.

The training programme lasts for five days and targets 50 trainees of IT teachers in the governorat­e. The participan­ts will learn about the basics of electronic­s and the most important pieces to build the mechanical structures in the bags allocated for such projects such as engines, sensors, gears, wheels, wires and various connectors.

Saif Saeed Almani, head of the IT department at the General Directorat­e of Education in Al Batinah South Governorat­e said: “The robot is the most advanced artificial intelligen­ce technology because its applicatio­ns offer a variety of solutions to the problems that face us in our contempora­ry life. It is our duty to transfer knowledge and science to our students according to scientific methodolog­y and give them a chance to practice it to achieve the desired goals.”

The programme aims at training the participan­ts to design a robot that makes a specific mission and translatin­g orders using specific sensors. This programme also was establishe­d to motivate participan­ts to take apart in national and internatio­nal competitio­ns for designing robots.
