Sayyid Asaad arrives in Brunei for Sultan Bolkiah’s golden jubilee

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tareq al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Internatio­nal Relations and Cooperatio­n Affairs, and Personal Representa­tive of His Majesty the Sultan, arrived in Brunei capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, on Thursday to attend the Golden Jubilee Celebratio­n of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkia, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne.

HH Sayyid Asaad and his delegation were received at Brunei Internatio­nal Airport by Minister of Religious Affairs, Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Commander of the Brunei Armed Forces, a number of senior officials at the Brunei government, Sultanate’s ambassador to Brunei Darussalam and members of the Embassy.

Upon his arrival, HH Sayyid Asaad gave the following statement: “It gives me a pleasure to represent His Majesty Sultan Qaboos at celebratio­ns of the friendly Brunei Darussalam of the golden jubilee of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah accession to the throne and to convey the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan to the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and the friendly people of Brunei on the occasion, and taking part at this celebratio­n.

“I would like to seize this opportunit­y to hail the strong level of bilateral relations between the Sultanate and Brunei Darussalam, which is witnessing a continuous developmen­t and is supported by the leaders in both countries.

This resulted in signing a number of agreements and memoranda of understand­ing during the past years in the different fields, especially economic, culture and education. Moreover, the exchange of visits among senior officials will effectivel­y contribute to opening wider horizons period.

During his participat­ion, HH Sayyid Asaad is accompanie­d by an official delegation comprising Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed al Shabibi, Minister of Housing, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hashil during the coming al Maskari, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Khalifa bin Hamad al Badi, Adviser at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Internatio­nal Relations and Cooperatio­n Affairs and Personal Representa­tive of His Majesty the Sultan, and Saif bin Ahmed al Sawafi, Adviser at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Internatio­nal Relations and Cooperatio­n Affairs and Personal Representa­tive of His Majesty the Sultan. MUSCAT: The price of Oman oil (December delivery) on Thursday rose by 46 cents to $54.55 per barrel, the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) reported.

The average price of Oman oil (October delivery) was stabilised at $50.39 per barrel, $2.76 higher than the September delivery.

The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) general index 30 too on Thursday added 5.8 points closing at 5,213.49 points compared to the last session which stood at 5,207.73 points.

The trading value stood at RO 30,902,662 comprising a rise of 973.6 per cent compared to the last session which stood at RO 2,878,346.

The market value rose by 0.075 per cent to reach about RO 17.99 billion.
