Sembcorp Salalah celebrates health and safety milestone

Sembcorp Salalah Power and Water Company (SSPWC) celebrated the achievement of three million safe manhours on October 1 at its plant in Taqah. The staff members of the SSPWC marked the occasion in presence of Qais al Zakwani, Executive Director and Member of the Authority for Electricity Regulation (AER). The event also saw attendance from dignitaries, Sembcorp stakeholders and contractor. Three million safe man hours is a major milestone, which means that the company has been working free of any labour accidents for almost 6 years, since it began operations in Dhofar in 2012.

Sembcorp Salalah Power and Water is the largest and most efficient power and water plant in the Governorate of Dhofar. Currently it supplies about 70 per cent of the regions power needs, and is the sole supplier of desalinated water for Raysut, Salalah, Taqah and Mirbat.
