Boost to Oman-Swiss relations

MUSCAT: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, on Sunday received Jürg Stahl, Swiss National Council President, and his delegation, who conveyed the greetings of the leadership in the Swiss Confederation to His Majesty the Sultan and wishes of success to the government and the Omani people further progress and prosperity.

At the beginning of the meeting, HH Sayyid Fahd reviewed the growing relations between the two friendly countries and the joint keenness to promote such relations. He hailed the existing cooperation between the two countries in many fields and the mutual desire to enhance such cooperation. HH Sayyid Fahd also praised the role played by Majlis Ash’shura in supporting the development efforts in the Sultanate.

On his part, Jürg Stahl expressed his country’s great appreciation of the success made by the Sultanate in its comprehensive development march and in building the institutional state and the rule of law. He also praised the Sultanate’s positive efforts towards a number of regional and international issues.

He also pointed out to his meetings with the chairman of Majlis Ash’shura and officials and the outcomes of such meetings with relation to enhancing bilateral cooperation in economic fields, sharing of experiences, and consultations on issues of mutual concern.

HH Sayyid Fahd requested the guest to convey the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan to Swiss leadership and His Majesty the Sultan’s wishes of further progress and prosperity for the government and friendly people of Switzerland.
