Biggest health expo opens

PHYSICAL: Free medical consultati­ons are also offered at the venue

A total of 200 exhibitors from 18 countries are participat­ing in the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference at the New Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The seventh edition of the three-day expo, recognised as the flagship health and medical event in the country, was opened by Dr Sultan bin Yarub al Busaidi, adviser to the Ministry of Health, on Monday.

One of the highlights of the show is the first-time associatio­n with Turkey as a country partner.

Another significan­t feature is the India Health Plus pavilion comprising top medical consultant­s and specialist­s from more than 30 leading hospitals in India. Adding value to the expo are pavilions of Germany, Thailand and Iran, now an emerging preferred medical destinatio­n for world-class treatment and services. It will feature consultant­s and medical specialist­s representi­ng 30 hospitals.

Free medical consultati­ons are also offered at the exhibition venue, while representa­tives from hospitals are offering informatio­n on ayurveda treatment.

Concurrent to the exhibition is a three-day scientific conference, organised in conjunctio­n with the Ministry of Health and the Oman Medical Associatio­n.

The conference features a notable line-up of highly acclaimed local and internatio­nal speakers who will discuss issues, challenges and case studies in medicine, surgery, paediatric­s, ENT/ophthalmol­ogy, gynaecolog­y, emergency and trauma.

The meet has enlisted the support of ICT Healthcare, a market leader in enterprise health IT; Sri Ramachandr­a Medical Centre, one of the best multispeci­alty hospitals in India and one of the largest private healthcare facilities in South Asia; Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest and fastest-growing conglomera­tes in the MENA region; and the Ministry of Health, Turkey.

The exhibition is open from 11 am to 8 pm. Conference hours are from 9 am to 3 pm.
