Meet on e-commerce strategy

MUSCAT: First meeting of the national task force, which will prepare the national e-commerce strategy in the Sultanate, was held at the Ministry of Transport and Communicat­ions on Thursday under the chairmansh­ip of Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communicat­ions.

The Minister of Transport and Communicat­ions stressed the importance of the project of preparing the national logistics A repertoire of short films that focused on social issues, both regional and internatio­nal, were previewed at the Indian Embassy auditorium last week.

The film evening named ‘DEEP FOCUS: FINAL CUT WITH THE RAYS’ was a retrospect­ive on the ideas on celluloid by Anirban and Nickyta Ray, a film-maker cum journalist couple based in Oman.

The event showcased six short films which dealt with several social issues, including road accidents, drug strategy for e-commerce with the government policy of availing business environmen­t to keep abreast of the current developmen­ts and establish an integrativ­e logistic, commercial, banking and technical system, for e-commerce and work to implement them in coordinati­on with the competent authoritie­s and to also keep abreast of efforts towards the infrastruc­ture and the main components for that. abuse, environmen­tal media and violence.

Each film was succeeded by the speech of an expert in the said section or social issue. Some of the speakers at the event included Mohammed al Kindi, President of Oman Film Society (OFS), Anvwar Balushi (Enterprenu­er and owner of Anvwar Asian Investment), who produced the movie against drugs starring late Salim Bahwan, IT wizard and recipient of various awards Tariq Barwani who is also the Founder of Knowledge Oman, and Shaima Aly, a representa­tive from UNFPA. issues, social
