Meet on e-com­merce strat­egy

MUS­CAT: First meet­ing of the na­tional task force, which will pre­pare the na­tional e-com­merce strat­egy in the Sul­tanate, was held at the Min­istry of Trans­port and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions on Thurs­day un­der the chair­man­ship of Dr Ahmed bin Mo­hammed al Fu­taisi, Min­is­ter of Trans­port and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions.

The Min­is­ter of Trans­port and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions stressed the im­por­tance of the project of pre­par­ing the na­tional lo­gis­tics A reper­toire of short films that fo­cused on so­cial is­sues, both re­gional and in­ter­na­tional, were pre­viewed at the Indian Em­bassy au­di­to­rium last week.

The film evening named ‘DEEP FO­CUS: FI­NAL CUT WITH THE RAYS’ was a ret­ro­spec­tive on the ideas on cel­lu­loid by Anir­ban and Nick­yta Ray, a film-maker cum jour­nal­ist cou­ple based in Oman.

The event show­cased six short films which dealt with sev­eral so­cial is­sues, in­clud­ing road ac­ci­dents, drug strat­egy for e-com­merce with the gov­ern­ment pol­icy of avail­ing busi­ness en­vi­ron­ment to keep abreast of the cur­rent devel­op­ments and es­tab­lish an in­te­gra­tive lo­gis­tic, com­mer­cial, bank­ing and tech­ni­cal sys­tem, for e-com­merce and work to im­ple­ment them in co­or­di­na­tion with the com­pe­tent au­thor­i­ties and to also keep abreast of ef­forts to­wards the in­fra­struc­ture and the main com­po­nents for that. abuse, en­vi­ron­men­tal me­dia and vi­o­lence.

Each film was suc­ceeded by the speech of an ex­pert in the said sec­tion or so­cial is­sue. Some of the speak­ers at the event in­cluded Mo­hammed al Kindi, Pres­i­dent of Oman Film So­ci­ety (OFS), An­vwar Balushi (En­ter­prenuer and owner of An­vwar Asian In­vest­ment), who pro­duced the movie against drugs star­ring late Salim Bah­wan, IT wiz­ard and re­cip­i­ent of var­i­ous awards Tariq Bar­wani who is also the Founder of Knowl­edge Oman, and Shaima Aly, a rep­re­sen­ta­tive from UNFPA. is­sues, so­cial
