-

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will start receiving the 2017 production of the dried dates, locally called (Busoor) from all governorates of three types, known locally (Al Mabsali, Al Madlouki and Abu Naranja) in the ministry stores in Al Wadi Al Kabir, Muscat, in accordance with the procedures in place in the past years and continue till December 31.

This comes in a continuation of the approach and role played by the ministry through providing government subsidy to farmers who supply their dried dates to the ministry, as well as providing subsidy to farmers who will export their products from this year’s crop to foreign markets directly to encourage them to find alternative and new markets to sell their products.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry calls on farmers to pay attention to the quality of the product that is supplied to the ministry or which is exported directly by them to foreign markets, by paying attention to cleaning the product well of impurities and flakes to maintain its reputation and compete with local and foreign markets.

The ministry also calls on farmers to strive to increase the export of their Busoor products in their own way.

The ministry confirms to the farmers who will export their products from this year’s crop that they will receive the government subsidy of RO 62.5 per tonnes. — ONA
