Media training programme starts

MUSCAT: The training programme on “Communicat­ion Skills with Media’ organised by the Ministry of Informatio­n was launched on Wednesday by Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour bin Said al Hasani, Minister of Informatio­n.

“The training programme organised by the Ministry in the past two years included a number of practical exercises that enhance communicat­ion and media skills of the staff of public organisati­ons, said the Minister of Informatio­n. “The 5th stage follows a series of training sessions for public employees who have been selected through direct cooperatio­n between the Ministry of Informatio­n and the relevant public organisati­ons.” ‘ The 5th stage of the programme comes under the theme ‘national campaigns, practical exercises’, he said.

Badr bin Abdullah al Hinai, Director-General of Communicat­ions at the Government­al Services Communicat­ion Centre of the Secretaria­t General of the Council of Ministers, said that the centre is in charge of developing the public communicat­ion system to reach out all sections of the society.

Dr Obaid bin Said al Shaqsi made a presentati­on on ‘national campaigns, practical examples’. He highlighte­d the organisati­ons involved in carrying out campaigns, the messages used in such campaigns, how to build preventive campaigns and the circumstan­ces surroundin­g media campaign and the media message content. The programme was attended by Ali bin Khalfan al Jabri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Informatio­n and a number of officials at the Ministry.
