Omantel hosts first ICT summit in the Sultanate

Omantel recently held its first ICT Summit to showcase the developmen­t and deployment of the latest innovative ICT technologi­es in Oman.

The event attracted over 200 leading technology companies and vendors under one umbrella and showcased Omantel’s vision in terms of innovative solutions and technologi­es in cloud computing, smart cities and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The event also showcased how technology has evolved to serve businesses in the Sultanate. The Summit aimed to encourage companies to make the right technology investment­s that not only cut down their IT and networking budgets but also improve efficienci­es while creating and driving new revenue streams.

We are pleased to host the first ever ICT Summit that clearly outlined the ICT objectives set out by the government to develop a digital society and use the latest technologi­es to drive innovation, enable economic diversific­ation and strengthen the national drive towards a digital economy.”

The event also discussed the solutions provided by Omantel to develop businesses, including the Ministry of Environmen­t and Climate Affairs, the Security and Safety Services Corporatio­n and other leading companies in various fields and industries.
