Libya keen to benefit from Oman’s experience

MUSCAT: An official session of talks between the Sultanate and Libya was held at the Council of Ministers HQs’ in Muscat on Thursday.

His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, led the Omani Side, while the Libyan side was led by Fayez Mustafa al Sarraj, Chairman of the Presidenti­al Council of Libya and Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) of Libya.

At the beginning of the talks, HH Sayyid Fahd reviewed the fraternal relations between the two countries and stressed the developmen­t of bilateral cooperatio­n in various fields to serve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples. He praised the efforts exerted by the GNA, which enjoys the confidence of the Libyan people, to promote all developmen­t paths in Libya. He stressed that the Sultanate supports all efforts to ensure the unity of Libyan territorie­s.

For his part, the Chairman of the Presidenti­al Council of Libya and Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) of Libya expressed his country’s appreciati­on to the Sultanate led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos for its continued support to Libya and for hosting the meetings of the Committee for the preparatio­n of the Libyan Constituti­on, in addition to the Sultanate’s keenness to ensure the success of all efforts to bring the parties together and unite the ranks to achieve the Libyan people security and stability and promote the march of constructi­on and reconstruc­tion.
