Results of student scientific innovation­s announced

MUSCAT: Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniya­h, Minister of Education, adopted the results of the student scientific innovation­s in the knowledge developmen­t programme and GLOBE environmen­tal programme.

The announceme­nt of these results comes in line with the approach adopted by the ministry, represente­d by the Department of Innovation and the Scientific Olympiad on the continuous developmen­t of the mechanism for the applicatio­n of student scientific innovation­s and the method of evaluation in quantity and quality, which came during the academic year 2016-2017 different from previous years by being in Oman Science Festival 2017 in the first version.

This adds to it and to the innovative students a great scientific and moral addition in dazzling of the visitors of the corners in the festival.

The 68 student scientific innovation­s were classified in the four fields: the field of natural sciences and Mathematic­s, engineerin­g systems, energy, transporta­tion and environmen­tal science.

They are evaluated by four jury committees that contained specialise­d academics, researcher­s and innovators from the Sultanate and abroad commensura­te with the pursuit of transparen­cy and fairness for each student business qualified for the final stage evaluation.

The festival hosted a corner for the evaluation of students’ projects in the GLOBE environmen­tal programme, which included 13 scientific research conducted by the students in all the corners. — ONA
