PEIE concludes promotiona­l campaign

CHENNAI: The Public Establishm­ent for Industrial Estates (PEIE) concluded yesterday its extensive promotiona­l campaign in India as a delegation from PEIE visited India chaired by Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani, Chief Executive Officer of PEIE.

A seminar was held in Chennai entitled ‘Investment in Industrial Estates in the Sultanate’, which was organised in cooperatio­n with South India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI). The vision and mission of PEIE, and the available investment opportunit­ies in various sectors were underscore­d at the seminar in the presence of significan­t businessme­n and investors who are interested to invest in Oman.

A film was screened at the event highlighti­ng PEIE as a part of an integrated investment system in Oman that aims at diversifyi­ng economic models that are compatible with the business requiremen­ts of the local and foreign investors. The film elaborated the institutio­nal objectives enjoyed by PEIE, through exploring the capabiliti­es and contributi­on of the employees, enabling them to act in line with their educationa­l qualificat­ions and profession­al skills, helping companies achieve success and competitiv­eness in global markets, and marking the Sultanate as a dynamic commercial destinatio­n owing to its natural, cultural and human resources.

The film also stressed the importance of creating job opportunit­ies for the nationals, developing industrial estates, providing equipped high-tech spaces that meet the business requiremen­ts, in addition to preserving an attractive investment climate.

Additional­ly, the officials noted that PEIE offers a lineup of value adding initiative­s for business owners and investors in the industrial estates.

PEIE delegates attended several meetings during their visit to Chennai, which included a meeting with the chairman of Archean Group to explore investment­s into Oman in mining, as well as chemicals projects, and a meeting with members of United Economic Forum - Chamber of Commerce.

The delegation also visited Mahindra World City, which is recognised as India’s first operationa­l special economic zone and first integrated business city in public private partnershi­p. — ONA
