State Council discusses proposal of programme for govt innovation

MUSCAT: The State Council Office discussed the proposal of National Programme for Excellent Performanc­e and Government Innovation.

The office held its second meeting of the third annual sitting of the sixth term on Tuesday under the chairmansh­ip of Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri in the presence of the office members and the secretary-general of the State Council. It hosted Nashi’ah bint Saud al Kharousiya­h, chairperso­n of the committee tasked with studying the proposal and the committee members.

Al Kharousiya­h explained that the aim of the programme is to enable the government department­s to achieve citizens’ well-being and fulfil the requiremen­ts and aspiration­s of the society in getting excellent government services.

The programme also targets to create a quantum leap in the government’s performanc­e, boost the level of competitiv­eness in the Sultanate, reward excellent performanc­e on the levels of individual and organisati­ons, support the government’s goals in the field of innovation, spreading the culture of excellence and creating conducive work environmen­t.

The office reviewed proposals presented by the members of the State Council and a number of reports and messages received from several entities. It also reviewed what has already been implemente­d from the decisions previously taken by the office. It also reviewed the activities of the period the second follow-up report of the the committees during between the first and meeting.

In its meeting, the State Council Office determined the agenda of the upcoming State Council meeting.
