Bank Sohar sponsors special needs walkathon

MUSCAT: As part of its continuous support for social and community initiative­s under its Corporate Social Responsibi­lity Programme — Sohar Al Atta, Bank Sohar has recently sponsored the special needs walkathon. The event was organised by the Ministry of Social Developmen­t to commemorat­e Internatio­nal Special Needs Awareness Day and falls among the Bank’s many community outreach and awareness generation programmes that prioritise giving back to society. Dr Yahya Bader al Maawali, Under-Secretary Minister of Social Developmen­t inaugurate­d the walkathon which held at Al Seeb Sports Stadium.

Commenting on the Bank’s support, Munira Abdulnabi Macki — GM HR & Corporate Support, at Bank Sohar, said, “Bank Sohar is a strong votary of social causes; we champion advocacy for initiative­s that bring awareness to human interest issues and those that focus on enhancing opportunit­ies for lesser privileged segments of society. Right from inception we have been actively engaged in numerous community welfare drives geared towards aid centres, charity and non-profit associatio­ns and social volunteer groups.
