Education Ministry and Riyada sign agreement

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Higher Education on Monday signed cooperatio­n agreement with the (Riyada) Public Authority for SMEs Developmen­t for boosting entreprene­urship in the Colleges of Applied Sciences (CAS) and College of Education in Al Rustaq.

The agreement was signed by Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Sarmi, Higher Education Ministry UnderSecre­tary and Khalid bin al Safi al Huraibi, Acting Chief Operating Officer at Riyada in the presence of Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Shibli, DirectorGe­neral of the Colleges of Applied Sciences.

As per the agreement, Riyada, in cooperatio­n with the ministry of higher education, will conduct a number of awareness and training programmes to enhance entreprene­urship culture for the CAS students and the College of Education in Al Rustaq.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Al Huraibi expressed his thanks and appreciati­on to the ministry of higher education for paying attention to bolstering entreprene­urship culture for the students. He pointed out that such cooperatio­n constitute­s a leap for Riyada being an entity responsibl­e for spreading entreprene­urship culture among the public.

This agreement will establish cooperatio­n in the fields of training, culture and awareness between Riyada and the Ministry of Higher Education. The cooperatio­n will involve a joint action plan for conducting various events such workshops and forums with special focus on the applied aspect of entreprene­urship, Al Huraibi said.
