State Council celebrates ‘Staff Appreciati­on Day’

MUSCAT: The State Council held on Wednesday its ‘Annual Staff Appreciati­on Day’ to promote and entrench recognitio­n across the organisati­on at all levels.

The event sponsored by Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, had the attendance of Dr Suad Mohamed Ali Sulaiman al Lawati, the Vice Chairperso­n of the Council, Yahya Rasheed Rashid al Jumaa, Bureau member and Dr Khalid bin Salim al Saeedi, Secretary-General of the State Council.

Khalid bin Jumaa al Hashimi, Assistant Secretary General for Administra­tive and Financial Affairs, in his speech praised the performanc­e of the Council’s staff, which majorly affects its work and enables the Council to carry out its assigned tasks.

He stressed that the event is meant to motivate the employees to contribute in better ways to State Council’s output and added that State Council would continue to recognise achievemen­ts and excellence in performanc­e.

Al Hashimi added: “In addition, the Council is keenly interested in empowering its employees with continued education and training. The Council regards its human resources as its foundation and believes that their upgraded skills will culminate in enhanced output.

Therefore, we celebrate the accomplish­ments of employees who have earned degrees at the level of Masters, Bachelors, including the diploma holders.”

Al Hashimi welcomed the employees who joined the Council during the years 2016 and 2017, reaching the number of employees of the Council to 160.

He concluded by thanking the Council Chairman, honourable members and the Secretary General for the sincere care and attention they give to the Council’s staff.

Following this, the State Council Chairman honoured the two employees who have spent 25 years in service, 17 retirees and 23 top performing employees across the various department­s.

The awarded employees who reached academic milestones included four Masters, nine Bachelors and one Diploma.

The evening programme saw an exhilarati­ng live music performanc­e and an exciting lucky draw, which gave away splendid prizes.
