The initial approval has been granted based on a feasibility study done by Dhofar University and sent to the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE). Based on the university’s abilities to fulfill the requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Health, the university would open the medical college, which would be a great value addition for the governorate.

If it happens, this would be the second medical college in the Sultanate after Oman Medical College.
