Italian magazine hails Oman’s calm and leading diplomacy
ROME: The Italian INTERNAZIONALE Magazine hailed the Sultanate’s foreign policy and described it as “quiet and rarely speaks about itself ”. The magazine also commended the achievements made by the Sultanate under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, as well as the Sultanate’s leading diplomacy and decisive role in the Gulf crises.
The magazine, published in Italian language, stressed the strategic location of the Sultanate which makes it an essential element at the Gulf strategy. It pointed out that His Majesty the Sultan’s foreign policy is based on neutralism and maintaining balanced regional and international stances. It also praised the Sultanate’s role in alleviating and controlling the crises that faced the region during certain time.
It also noted that the Sultanate played a key role in the negotiations between Iran and US in 2015 and the Syrian crises, as well as its role in the talks between US officials and Yemeni groups to settle the dispute in Yemen. It also highlighted the role played by the Sultanate in freeing a number of Western hostages.
The magazine said that the Sultanate during the reign of His Majesty the Sultan was converted from an isolated state into a modern state that interacts with regional and international organisations such as the Arab League and the United Nations.
The magazine concluded that His Majesty the Sultan’s achievements and policy earned him high respect and esteem of everyone at the different arenas.
