Shurufat al Majlis reviews developmen­t of judiciary

MUSCAT: The State Council has released its fifth issue of Shurufat al Majlis. It is an important cultural resource and a channel for communicat­ion with parliament­arians globally.

The fifth issue of the Shurafat focuses on the judiciary in the Sultanate; and includes interviews with experts like the Minister of Justice, Chairman of the Supreme Court, Chairman of the Administra­tive Court of Justice and Attorney General.

The editorial by Dr Khaled bin Salem Al Saidi was about “the Omani judiciary. The foundation of the State of institutio­ns and law “, based on the historical dimension of the concept of justice and its role in the consolidat­ion of the social security of States, the promotion of their economic growth and the consolidat­ion of their political stability.

In the same context, the issue includes two articles of the first judicial scholars entitled “The judiciary in Oman through the ages” and the second entitled “The developmen­t of the judiciary in Oman”.

The issue also includes a dialogue with the Speaker of the Kuwaiti ‘Majlis Al Umma’, in addition to the first two studies entitled: “The Balance in the relationsh­ip between the Parliament and the Government: A developmen­tal approach”, while the second carried the headline “Parallel Parliament­ary Diplomacy: Horizon and Challenges”.
