Omani Night to empower entrepreneurs in Dhofar
Reflecting its deeply rooted commitment towards the thriving entrepreneurs’ community in the Governorate of Dhofar, Muriya hosted a special ‘ Omani Night’ event at its Hawana Salalah destination. Organised in collaboration with the Public Authority for SME Development (Riyada), the activity promoted the products and services of the local small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, as well as Oman’s rich cultural heritage to the project’s growing number of visitors and tourists from all around the world.
The ‘Omani Night’ event was organised at Hawana Salalah in line with Muriya’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. Well received by local entrepreneurs in the governorate, the event featured a host of entertainment activities including face painting and caricature drawing. Other highlights of the evening included presentations of authentic Omani handicrafts, coffee and halwa, as well as traditional dress and souvenirs.
Mohammed al Ghassani, Director of Riyada in the Governorate of Dhofar, said, “We appreciate the importance of such events in promoting the products and services of local SMEs and entrepreneurs. It also presents them with the opportunity to interact with consumers, understand market trends and requirements especially when it comes to selling to a wide range of backgrounds of tourists. We value our partnership with Muriya, which is part and parcel of Riyada’s strategy to forge value-added partnerships with the private sector, and we look forward to embarking on similar collaborations to support various segments of the business community in Oman.”
