Alawi and his delegation were received by Majed al Fitiani, Governor of Jericho and Jordan Valley and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation.

Al Fitiani commended the Sultanate’s role in the Arab region and its support to the resolutions taken by the Palestinian leadership, noting that the Sultanate is one of few countries which have supported Palestinian visions.

In a statement to Oman New Agency (ONA), Al Fitiani said that the Palestinian side views Alawi’s visit, which comes within the context of tough historic circumstances, as an important visit at a time of significant regional and political juncture.

It is a message to the whole world that Palestine is not alone and that the Sultanate of Oman with all its respect and political weight stands with us confirming that His Majesty Sultan Qaboos is one of the world’s political figures who have their fingerprints on the world and international relations.
