Toyota achieves annual target for 2017
MUSCAT: BankDhofar recently received the Payments Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) version 3.2 Compliance Certification, which is the most rigorous industry-recognised payment-card security standard available globally. With this achievement, BankDhofar becomes the first local bank in Oman to attain PCI DSSv3.2 compliance and certification.
PCI DSS compliance and certification ensures the security of card data through a set of requirements established by the PCI SSC, which is also considered the best way to safeguard sensitive data and information, thereby helping businesses build long lasting relationships with their customers.
On the achievement, Dr Tariq Taha (pictured), Chief Information Officer at BankDhofar, said, “At BankDhofar we place a great attention on protecting our customers’ information. The PCI DSS certification has enabled us to build and implement a successful and best-in-class information security and cyber security strategy and controls, which leads to an increased protection of information.” WITH the all-new 2018 Terrain, GMC enters a new chapter of design seamlessly blending the finer details with the offering of an unforgettable drive with turbocharged engines.

THE journey to the future is ambitious and electric. A number of countries are witnessing growing numbers of electrified vehicles that are becoming a mainstay on their roads. Toyota Motor Corporation has for years set milestones and achieved them in the field of alternative energy.
Recently Toyota Motor Corporation announced that it reached a landmark milestone in annual sales of electrified powertrains in 2017 with over 1.52 million sold worldwide as of February 2, 2018, surpassing the prior record set in 2016 by eight per cent. The numerical milestone marks back-to-back years of growth and accomplishment of one of Toyota’s Environmental Challenge 2050 goals, selling more than 1.5 million electrified vehicles in a single year, three years in advance of the original target set for 2020.
Additionally, cumulative sales of electrified vehicles now exceed 11.47 million, which represents a reduction of more than 90 million tonnes of Co2 compared to sales of equivalent conventional vehicles.
