10 Techween tech start-ups head to Ireland

“The participan­t teams made presentati­ons about their tech ideas during the filtration stage — from the date of registrati­on until it ended. Later, their ideas were evaluated by an evaluation committee from OTF and NDRC, then 10 teams were selected to join Techween as tech start-ups at the pre-seed stage.”

He continued, “Those teams joined an intensive 12-week training programme to measure the adequacy of their ideas and projects with the market and further develop them to become more expandable. Afterwards, they will participat­e in NDRC training programme in Ireland to gain the needed expertise in order to enter the market and support the growth of the national economy.”

Al Rasbi added that Techween holds weekly meetings with Omani entreprene­urs to share their inspiring experience­s.

First cohort of the participan­t tech start-ups at the pre-seed stage are DataBlock7­5, Accomplish, Adeeb, Envago, Eshara, Hands, Peekaboo Guru, SilkFlows, TBD and TelyPay. Techween aims at supporting the stage of adequating the product with the market and ascertaini­ng the economic feasibilit­y.

OTF is a specialist fund in investing in start-ups and innovative and creative ideas in the IT sector in Oman and the MENA region.
