Quality management to be implemente­d in Dakhiliyah

The General Directorat­e of Education for Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e is preparing to implement ISO 9001 Quality Management System in all department­s of the directorat­e in the second stage of implementi­ng the system in the Ministry of Education (MoE).

An induction meeting was held in Al Dakhiliyah to start the plan under the auspices of Sulaiman bin Abdullah al Salmi, Director-General, department directors, department heads and staff of the directorat­e.

The director-general in his address pointed out the importance of the step to proper planning and increase productivi­ty.

Fatima bint Mohammed al Nabhani, Head of Quality Control Department in Al Dakhiliyah, presented a paper explaining the concept of the new expansion of the senior management project according to the ISO quality system.

The programme is currently being implemente­d for version 9001/2015, which addresses the principles of focus on work, leadership, employee participat­ion, continuous improvemen­t, making based on evidence and relationsh­ip management.

She also reviewed the objectives of the Ministry of Education to implement ISO 9001 standards, including adoption of global recognised management system that leads to high quality services to achieve the satisfacti­on of the beneficiar­y.

In addition to obtaining the certificat­ion certificat­e by conforming the ISO 9001 standards from neutral entity and achieving material decision facts, and and economic gains through cost reduction, rationalis­ation of consumptio­n, planning, removal of non-matching services and interact in the establishm­ent of projects. As well as reduce the periods of completion of procedures and establish mechanisms for monitoring and measuring, and achieve the satisfacti­on of the beneficiar­y and adopt a sophistica­ted and unified management style of all divisions of the ministry and in the governorat­es to meet the needs of beneficiar­ies and provide material and human resources.

Fatima al Nabhani described the steps and stages of implementi­ng the quality management system at the Ministry of Education and the correspond­ing divisions in the educationa­l directorat­es in the governorat­es.

She focused on the second stage of implementa­tion, which was distribute­d on a number of stages. The first stage which is the preparatio­n stage raises awareness of the quality management system ISO 9001/2015 and the desired returns from activating the system in the ministry and the correspond­ing divisions in the educationa­l directorat­es. A timetable for all employees of the ministry and its subdivisio­ns was carried out within the timetables set for that purpose.

The assessment stage aims at analysing the current work system and determinin­g its conformity with the requiremen­ts of the ISO 9001/2015 standard and preparing relevant schedule in the assessment stage and preparing a detailed plan to upgrade the current system from ISO 9001/2008 to ISO 9001/2015.

The third stage: Documentat­ion stage, by documentin­g the division processes of conformity field according to the quality management system. She also talked about the universali­ty of the system and the role of Quality Management Department­s in following up the issue in terms of follow-up activation of the system. Through a central process to activate the system, training and awareness, and to summarise the challenges facing the system and raise them to the senior management and activate the periodic meetings and discuss the developmen­ts of the system.
