Highest land allotments in Al Dhahirah

A total of 3,068 residentia­l plots were allotted by the Ministry of Housing in different governorat­es in February this year.

The maximum number of plots, 848, was allotted in Al Dhahirah, followed by Al Batinah South, 596.

According to the National Centre for Statistics and Informatio­n, Al Dhahirah continues to get the highest percentage of allotment, registerin­g a 1,480-per cent rise between January 2017 and February 2018.

While Musandam received two plots in February, Muscat got 267.

Meanwhile, the ministry confirmed that the value of real estate activity in North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi and Musandam governorat­es last February amounted to more than RO 20.5 million.

Hassan bin Suleiman al Salmi, Director-general of Housing in North Al Batinah, said the total value of real estate registered in February in the governorat­e was RO 17 million.

He said in a statement posted on the ministry’s website that fees collected during the same period amounted to RO 1.343 million through 9,295 legal transactio­ns, including sale, donation, inheritanc­e, swap, mortgage, mortgage redemption, utilisatio­n and deed stamping, in addition to division.

Al Salmi said contracts registered in North Al Batinah totalled 1,122 in sale, 168 in mortgage, 350 in donation, 337 in inheritanc­e, 18 in swap, 91 in mortgage redemption, 83 in deed redemption and 24 in utilisatio­n.

He said 5,344 titles were issued during the period in all wilayats of North Al Batinah Governorat­e, including 40 titles to GCC citizens.

On the other hand, Haidar bin Abdulhadi al Lawati, Director-general of Housing in Musandam Governorat­e, said the value of real estate activity during February this year totalled RO 544,231.

Fees collected amounted to RO 52,252 through the conclusion of 375 legal transactio­ns, including sale, donation, inheritanc­e, mortgage, mortgage redemption, utilisatio­n and division.

As for the real estate activity in Al Buraimi, Khamis bin Saif Aal Abdulsalam, Directorge­neral of Housing in Al Buraimi, said the value of real estate activity recorded in February reached more than RO 3,136,000.

Fees collected amounted to RO 177,482 through the conclusion of 523 legal transactio­ns, including sale, donation, inheritanc­e, mortgage, mortgage redemption, utilisatio­n, deed stamping and division.

At the same time, the total number of titles issued to GCC citizens, reached 115, including 47 title deeds to citizens of United Arab Emirates followed by Kuwait with 39.

Qatari citizens received 15 title deeds, Saudi nine and Bahraini citizens five.
