MEC launches new programme

IN light of the Logistics Strategy 2040 which aims to develop the logistics field in the Sultanate, Middle East College (MEC) organised a launching event for its new programme in Logistics Management offered in partnershi­p with NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences, the Netherland­s, on March 5, 2018 at the MEC Student Hub. The event was held under the auspices of Eng Abdulrahma­n Salim al Hatmi, Group CEO of Oman Global Logistics — ASYAD, and in the presence of Dr Abdullah al Sabahi, Chairman, MEC, Dr Kiran G R, Dean, MEC, Maarten Van Rijn, from NHTV Breda University, distinguis­hed academicia­ns from the public and private institutio­ns, MEC’S management, staff and students.

In his inaugural address, Eng. Abdulrahma­n Salim al Hatmi, Group CEO of Oman Global Logistics — ASYAD, expressed his satisfacti­on as the higher educationa­l institutio­ns are training the skillsets of prospectiv­e executives and employees perfectly synchronis­ing with the industry requiremen­ts and demands. He also assured his total support to make the learning process more practical with the active support of the logistics network in Oman. He commented: “Congratula­tions MEC! Developing human capital in the logistics sector is one of the four pillars of our strategy and I am pleased to see that the momentum is gaining pace across all of our educationa­l establishm­ents”.
