Car agency fined for consumer law breach
Two people from a car agency were fined RO 2,000 for breaching the Consumer Protection Law and its regulations.
A Court of First Instance in Ibri issued the judgment against the duo.
As per details, a consumer filed a complaint against a car agency with which he had an agreement to purchase a 2016 model vehicle. He had paid RO 100 in advance.
However, the agency sold the vehicle to another customer and offered the complainant a different vehicle or model, which he refused.
The consumer filed a complaint with the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), which was referred to the Public Prosecution, which conducted an investigation.
The case was referred to the competent court, which convicted and fined the duo.
