OOC’S sports management course begins at OOC premises
MUSCAT: The Sports Management Course organised by Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) within the framework of its approved 2018 programmes and plans began yesterday at the OOC premises under the patronage of Farid bin Khamis al Zadjali, Chairman of Oman Basketball Association and OOC Board member.
In his opening speech, Al Zadjali tackled the fundamental principles of good management and continuing evaluation of employees’ performance in accordance with the specific criteria based on flexibility and transparency.
Hisham al Adwani, National Director of the Course, delivered an opening speech in which he thanked OOC for organising such courses and for providing the cadres of OOC and sports associations with the opportunity to further develop their management skills and increase their experience in this field.
Then, he embarked upon his first lecture giving historical background of Olympism referring to Pierre De Coubertin as being the founder of the International Olympic Committee, as well as the father of the modern Olympic Games.
Al Adwani then spoke about the fundamental principles of the Olympic Movement aiming at developing mankind and providing sports organisations with the right to be independent under the Olympic Charter.
Today’s lecture will also focus on the Olympic values and issues featured by governance and sport, arbitration, settlement of disputes, Olympic culture and education and sport and sustainable environment.
